Our Love Goes Further families are at the heart of everything we do. These precious families are just a few we have been honored to walk alongside as they navigate the physical, emotional, and financial challenges this diagnosis brings.

Congratulations to George Wagner, the Palatine H.S. recipient of our 2025 Love Goes Further Scholarship.
In George's own words, "A person's true character is never revealed in moments of triumph or success; instead it is revealed through how we respond to adversity...I came to understand that adversity does not weaken love, it strengthens it when practiced through sacrifice and responsibility.
George (in gray) is surrounded by members of his family who George acknowledged in his beautiful essay.
Your future is bright, George. We can't wait to see the great things you'll achieve!

Congratulations to Sumedha Rao, the William Fremd H.S. recipient of our 2025 Love Goes Further Scholarship.
Sumedha wrote a beautiful essay sharing wisdom she received from her grandfather, "What you learn should never remain only yours."
Sumedha wrote, "Ioften think about that sentence my grandfather said so casually...At the time, it sounded like advice. Now, it feels like a responsibility I carry with me into every decision I make...No matter how far I go, his love goes further."
Sumedha, you are already achieving great things! We can't wait to see what your future holds!

In the sweetest competition ever, members of the Palatine Community competed to see which side of town purchased the most red or green donuts reflecting Palatine or Fremd's school colors at Palatine's legendary, Spunky Dunkers.
Congratulations to Fremd High School who took the prize and thank you to Spunky Dunkers who generously donated over $4,500, the entire proceeds from these sales to the Kendall Nicole Eich Foundation!
In preparation for our One Community One Cause, Brain Cancer Awareness Night, Cindy and Marty were invited to appear on Good Day Chicago. Cindy would have loved to talk about our wonderful beneficiary families and the many ways our donors allow us to pour love into their lives, but what a great experience and Anthony Ponce couldn't have been nicer! https://www.fox32chicago.com/video/1756526

Thank you, Kendall Nicole Eich Foundation for welcoming my husband Ryan, our son, Jake, and myself (Susan) into the Love Goes Further family! We are so honored and blessed to receive your encouragement and support!
In January 2024, Ryan, was sitting in his parked car when he abruptly felt like he was having an “out of
body” experience. He felt like his mind was floating away from his body. He held on tight to the steering
wheel trying to combat the feeling.
Later that day, the emergency room doctor informed us that Ryan had a very large mass located in the
right frontal and temporal lobe his brain. Ryan and I were astounded! We didn’t know how we were going
to get through this but trusted that God would put the right people in our lives to help us on this
journey.
Ryan underwent surgery on January 10th, 2024, and 95% of the tumor was removed. He was diagnosed
with brain cancer, specifically with grade 3 anaplastic astrocytoma. Ryan completed proton, radiation,
chemotherapy, and continues to have regular MRIs to address his cancer. Due to the location of the
cancer, the surgery and the long-term side effects from the radiation, Ryan suffers from short-term
memory loss as well as some deficits that affect him both physically and mentally. Ryan's cancer is
incurable and considered to be a terminal diagnosis but the great news is that Ryan is doing well at this
time.
Six months after Ryan’s diagnosis, I was unexpectedly diagnosed with Stage 3 triple negative breast cancer. A husband and wife both going through cancer treatment together at the exact same time. Who would have ever imagined that?
These cancer diagnoses have made life for us more challenging emotionally, physically, and financially.
At this time, both Ryan and I are unable to work. Our daily lives are filled with medical appointments,
medications, and daily challenges. Add life, parenting our 9-year-old son, and at times we can feel very
overwhelmed. But we have found unexpected joy through all of this. We have discovered the value of
kindness, realized the importance of humor, learned to celebrate the little moments, and cherish the
time we have together.
We wanted to express our deepest gratitude for your compassion, encouragement, and support. It came
at a time when we truly needed it the most, and we are incredibly thankful. Our household income has
changed greatly since our cancer diagnoses and our savings has dwindled. Affording medical insurance
and medical bills are our largest stressors at this time. Add in our 9-year-old son and the holidays approaching, the thought of finances is very emotional. Your kindness has lightened our financial
burden and allows us to focus on what is truly important, spending quality time with Ryan and using our story to help support and inspire others.
Sincerely,
Ryan, Susan & Jake
